Lesser Scaup male
I stopped off at the Old Trail Golf Course to see if the seven Long-tailed ducks that were reported yesterday were still there. Unfortunately, there is no public access to the pond where they were seen, and with golfers on the course, there was no way to get to the pond to take a look. However, I did stop at the golf course pond along the walkway, and saw several Tree Swallows, a Great Blue Heron, several Turkey Vultures, a Mourning Dove, a pair of Pied-billed Grebes, and a male and a female Lesser Scaup Duck. The female kept turning onto her back - guess she was showing off how to do the back stroke!
