Rockfish Valley Trail 9/16/11

All photos are © Marshall Faintich

Although I logged 27 species on the trail this morning, there just wasn't the same level of avian activity that I saw two days ago. A cold front moved into the area, and it was 20 degrees cooler today than yesterday. A thin layer of clouds covered the sky, and it seemed that most of the birds were hunkered down until it got warmer. There was more activity at 9:00 than when I arrived at 8:30.
