I went out to Swoope this morning to tour some private land (250 acres) where I now have permission to go birding , and to visit with another birding friend who has another farm there. When I arrived there around 10:30, the temperature was already in the low 80's, and reached close to 90 degrees by noon, so after a short hike, I did most of my birding from my car with the windows down and the air conditioner keeping the inside of the car somewhat cooler. Although none of the birds I saw this morning were exceptional, I did end up with 23 species.
