The first snake I saw was at Boyce Thompson Arboretum. I was photographing A Lucy's Warbler, a Verdin, and a Bell's Vireo in the same tree when I saw this very long snake in the same tree - probably looking for a meal.

The second snake I saw was a Diamond-backed Rattlesnake sunning itself on highway 87 as we were driving to Mt. Ord. I was not able to stop the car for photos. As we were heading back down the dirt road on Mt. Ord, the third snake of the trip was sunning itself across the road.

There were quite a few other critters around as well.
