Ridgeview Park (Waynesboro)

Walt Childs and I started out at Ridgeview Park where we saw 28 avian species, and a fox. Highlight for me was my FOS American Redstart.

We then headed up Route 340 to Elkton, and birded along the river south of there. We saw 14 additional avian species bringing our trip total to 42. There were lots of Yellow-rumped Warblers in breeding plumage. We saw a male Blue-gray Gnatcatcher working on building a nest. I did some research afterwards and learned that both male and female Gnatcacthers build nests - always learning something new about birds!
