Rockfish Valley, VA, 12/9/15

There was dense fog this morning. By early afternoon, some of the fog had cleared, and I checked out a couple of the ponds and Lake Monocan here in Stoney Creek. All I saw was the Pied-billed Grebe that has been in Lake Monocan for a few weeks.

I hiked a bit on the Rockfish Valley Trail after that, and saw 15 avian species there. Best birds were a Fox Sparrow and an American Kestrel.
