It was sunny but even colder than yesterday, so I waited until mid-morning to take a hike close to home. Plently of birds were out and looking for food. I logged 19 avian species, including an Eastern Phoebe, uncommon here in the winter, and a first year Yellow-bellied Sapsucker starting to get its red coloring. Also included below is a rather poor photo of a Mourning Dove. The reference books state that this species can have a buffy underside, but I have never seen one this yellow.
