An American Toad was hanging out at our basement door.

I didn't have time to do any birding, but a male Pileated Woodpecker was in our yard.

I went over to the Rockfish Valley Trail this morning and saw 20 avian species there. Many of the birds were gathering nesting materials.

I saw my Rockfish Valley first of the season (FOS) Brown Thrasher (saw one last week in Newport News).

I drove just to the south of the trail onto School House Lane where I saw a pair of Belted Kingfishers three days ago. There were three of them today. I have often seen two Kingfishers together, but I think that this was the first time I have seen three together. There was one male, one female, and I couldn't determine the sex of the third one.

I did short hike when I got back to Stoney Creek, and added four new species to the day's total.
