We had close to three inches of snow, followed by extremely cold temperatures. Early morning temperatures on Monday and Tuesday were in the single digits, and never got above freezing either day. I did some local birding here in Old Trail, but most of the birds were hunkered down to stay warm, and by Tuesday morning, most of the golf gourse pond was froaen over. Our local, juvenile Cooper's Hawk was out, but it didn't look very happy with the frozen and snow covered surfaces.

On Wednesday, it finally got above freezing in the afternoon. Most of the ponds and creeks were still frozen, but the birds were either active trying to find food, or were perched with their feathers ruffed out to keep warm.

It's supposed to be in the mid-60s by Thursday. Crazy weather here - almost as crazy as St. Louis weather!
