It was a nice day to be out birding, but the vegetation up on the parkway is still at least a week away from supporting good birding. Hopefully, the very warm temperatures expected this week will make a huge difference in the greenery. I saw 24 avian species along the first 14 miles of the parkway, including exiting around mm. 2 onto parallel Route 610, and re-entering the parkway near mm 4 . I saw three warbler species on the parkway: American Redstart (at least 10), Worm-eating Warbler, and Hooded Warbler (3), as well as my first of season (FOS) Yellow-throated Vireo and my FOS Wood thrush (2).
