It was a bit cloudy and rather chilly this morning, with temperatures in the upper 30s, but I wanted to get out, so I did a little birding here in Old Trail. I ended up with 16 avian species, including my first of season Hermit Thrush. I got a quick look at a very rufous (bottom and rear of bird) colored bird by the small creek in the wetlands area. It might have been a Virginia Rail or an American Woodcock, but I only got a quick look and could not make a positive identification.
