Walt Childs and I did some birding along our usual route in northern Augusta and southern Rockingham Counties, but with a few minor changes to the route. We didn't see anthing really special, but had a fun outing and ended up with 38 avian species.
White-crowned Sparrow
White-throated Sparrow
American Black Ducks
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Carolina Wren
The highlights of the trip were the raptors. In addition to Black and Turkey Vultures, we saw 5 Americal Kestrels, 4 Sharp-shinned Hawks, 1 Cooper's Hawk, 2 Red-shouldered Hawks, and 10 Red-tailed Hawks.
