Old Trail

It was another mostly overcast, hot, and humid morning. I hiked here in Old Trail, and logged only 24 avian species, but got a couple of species that I had not seen yesterday: Carolina Chickadee and and an uncooperative Yellow Warbler. I also saw a female House Finch that looked HUGE!

I re-located the Blue Grosbeak in the same area I have been seeing it, and this time also saw a female nearby, so I am hoping that they breed here.

I spotted a Black Vulture, and a little while later saw a kettle of 35 to 40 of them.

Best photos of the day were of a large American Toad.

Unfortunately, some of the residents here let their cats run loose, and I saw one carrying an adult rabbit that it had just killed.
