Route 610, VA 10/6/2020

I met up with Tink Moyer at the old tower on Route 610 near mm. 2 of the Blue Ridge Parkway, and we birded that 2 mile long stretch of Route 610 between the tower and mm. 4 of the parkway, and a short stop at the south end of the cirque (mm. 7.5) on the parkway. There weren't a lot of birds, but I ended up with 21 avian species, including 5 warbler species and both Black-billed and Yellow-billed Cuckoos. Tink got a good look at a Magnolia Warbler that I did not see, so together we had 6 warbler species. The Black-billed Cuckoo was a juvenile seen along Route 810, and possibly the same one I saw 2 days ago. The Yellow-billed Cuckoo was up at the cirque, and it was there that I got a quick look at a Common Yellowthroat.
