Old Trail

November 1

What a difference a couple of days make. It rained most of the morning, and although it was sunny with the temperatures in the 60s during the afternoon, strong winds kept most of the birds hunkered down. After logging 30 to 40+ avian species each day for the past week or so, I only had 18 species this afternoon. I did find a few spots where birds were somewhat sheltered from the wind, and that's where I saw most of the species.

November 2

Yesterday's strong southwesterly winds changed to strong northwesterly winds, and with temperatures around 40 this morning, it was rather chilly out. Once again, many birds were hunkered down, but I managed 22 avian species this morning, with a two day list of about 25 species.
