We had rain overnight, so I didn't expect any new warblers to have migrated into the area, but I wanted to see if I had missed any warbler species yesterday up on the Blue Ridge Parkway and Route 610. I knew that the parkway might be crowded on a Sunday, but when I arrived around 9:30, it was mostly sunny and only 51 degrees with a slight wind, and it wasn't too crowded. By the time I left a little after noon, it was mostly cloudy and breezy, and the parkway was jammed. I birded along the parkway from mm. 0 to mm. 2, and then from mm. 4 all the way south to "The Priest" at mm. 17.6., and Route 610 between mm. 2 and mm. 4 of the parkway. I ended up with 20 avian species, including a few Ovenbirds, Black and White Warblers, a Pine Warbler, and I heard a Hooded Warbler that I didn't spend much time trying to locate. Unconfirmed species heard only and not included above were Cerluean Warbler, American Redstart, and Yellow-throated Vireo.
