Old Trail

It was mostly cloudy, hot, and very humid this morning, making hiking a bit of a chore, but I still managed to see 25 avian species. I started off at the golf course pond.

I headed up to the Red-shouldered Hawk nest, heard little ones, but couldn't see the nest through all the leaf cover. Another hawk showed up, but it was chased away by a Blue Jay.

The last part of my hike was in Western Park. I saw at least one Yellow Warbler, and at least two Common Yellowthroats.

I heard the Yellow-breasted Chat, and then got a quick look at it flying. This species is my 152nd species seen in Old Trail. I first saw it on May 30th, and perhaps it will stay for the summer.
