Old Trail

The "dog days" of summer birding have arrived. It's hot and humid, many of the summer species have already left, and it will be two to three weeks before migrating and wintering species will be here. I only logged 20 avian species this morning, but did see a few good bird species.

I was happy to see Blue Grosbeaks along Slabtown Branch Creek again this year, and hadn't seem them at this location previously this summer. Papa brought junior a Praying Mantis.
