I had a morning appointment in Charlottesville, and wasn't able to get out with my camera until mid-afternoon. It was hot and muggy, and I only saw about 10 avian species.

With my car in the shop all day, I was constrained to hiking here in Old Trail this morning. At least it was a bit cooler than yesterday afternoon. I ended up with 20 avian species, including 4 warbler species. I saw both Palm Warbler subspecies and my first of season Yellow-rumped Warblers.

Near the end of my hike, I saw a hawk with a long tail, and first assumed that it was a juvenile Cooper's Hawk. But it was a juvenile Red-shouldered Hawk.
