Old Trail

I did a short hike here in Old Trail this morning between 11:00 and noon. It was quite hot and muggy, and I ended up with only 14 or 15 avian species.

I saw a Double-crested Cormorant just off the fishing pier on the golf course pond this morning. This species is usually a coastal bird, but is sometimes found farther inland on ponds, and this was not the first one I have seen in Old Trail. Although I have seen hundreds of DC Cormorants, this was the first time I have ever seen one vibrating its throat. I suppose that this is a normal behavior, but a first for me to see. My wildlife camera is designed for still photos, but can take short videos, and I have included one in this post of the DC Cormorant vibrating its throat.
