This was the last full day of the tour, and the entire group went via sea plane to Brooks Falls while our luggage was transferred to the King Salmon airport for our return that afternoon to Anchorage. Once again, I saw some interesting avian species, as well as good looks at a porcupine.

I heard a Pine Grosbeak (life bird) singing. It had female/juvenile plumage, and usually it's the males that are singing, so this one might have been a juvenile male.

As I was photographing birds near the cabins, a mama and cub brown bear walked about 50 feet in front of me. They didn't seem to be interested in me, and by the time I reacted after seeing them through my camera, they had moved on.
Birds and bears
There were lots of brown bears along the first gated boardwalk and bridge. Just like two days earlier, most of them were mama bears and their cubs, or younger bears that had not yet reached adulthood, and they were fishing for salmon in the shallow and fairly calm water, or play fighting to learn survival skills.
